Heida (founder and head design lady at Nikita) and Runar (co-founder and Heida’s man) raced in an annual 6 hour dirt bike race in Iceland last weekend. Crazy. Even crazier is that the sun never sets this time of year so the race goes from 6 until midnight…and it’s broad daylight the whole time.
The race snaked through single tracks and sands, lava fields and also included a motocross track. Both Runar and Heida commented that they, ‘could feel every muscle in their body after the race”. Not in a good way I can imagine. So when mother nature hands you days of endless light, grad a dirt bike and hit the trails.

So I got back from a meeting in Iceland and had some photos waiting for me in my inbox. Vera Janssen….uuummm…has started wakeboarding. Yeup, I told her that I was going to post these and let the world know she’s a closet wakeboard girl…
Enjoy!

Ok, I’m not gonna lie, whenever I see a Blazers jersey I get a little nostalgic. Biking in Portland with an old school Scotty Pippen #30, man, I’ve never been hollered at so much in my life. So you see, when I saw these shots of Christl my heart warmed.
This girl’s got the travel bug. She’s just returned from the states, went to play on the Dachstein Glacier for a bit and then headed surfing in Hossegor. Sound slike the good life to me.

So I got these two shots from our ladies in France who help keep track of the Euro girls. This is Lydia Wilfing, only 14 and slaying it. She’s got a four page interview coming out in Golden Ride and Boardstein - German mags, go figure. Watch out for this youngster, she’s comin’ in hot.

Here are some photos of Maria Falbo who skates for Nikita in the UK. She’s just wrapped up uni (that’s what the fish ‘n’ chip, tea lovin’ English call University - pretty sweet, huh?)
She’s going to school for Design Management for Fashion Retail at U of Manchester. Right now she’s doing summer right back home in Dorset.

Sweet boardslide action

Maria’s headed to the Big Apple with Kim Wibbelt (another Nikita gal) and the Rockstar Bearings team to get some filming done. Bring your sweatbands ladies, it’s gonna get sticky east coast style!
Skate Fest 2008 is on this June 21st from 10-4 in Fairfax, VA. If you’re around go help the cause and raise some cash for the Children’s Hospital Foundation. Check out www.skatefestfairfax.com for more info and ways to get involved in a sweet non-profit opportunity.
Some frequent flier miles have been adding up for the Nikita girls these days! Kim Lamarre, one of our rad skier girls just went to France to play in Paris. Now if you are yet to see and experience Paris, you must! Hands down one of the best places in the world.
Kim went with her sister, mom and grandmother…few generations of sweet ladies. Love it!
They stayed for 8 days and ran around Paris shopping seeing the sights and of course, eating. What else is there to do in France than eat?

This is the view from the Eiffel Tour looking in the direction of l’arc de triumph. Some of the worst driving in the world happens around that arc.

sweets. And how Frenchies are so chic and slim…will always be a mystery

Pigeons are all over. AS they are all over everywhere…

So the nice thing about being a snowboarder is that you get the summers to do whateves. Some work, some travel, some go to school, some skate, some work at camp, some go home to eat mom’s home cookin’ and the list goes on.
Clair Bidez took a sweet trip to Negril, Jamaica to see the sights. Cliff jumping happened, jerk chicken was enjoyed and motorcycle touring was the transport of choice. Sounds like a sweet trip to me.

Peppa and Gio ‘Barafuco’ are throwing a break event July 12th inEagel Rock, CA. Go check it out!
