I got an update from Magalie Dubois the other day. she sent over a few photos and a sweet recap of her summer. You may have seen this lively ginger at HCSC, ASR, Mexico, Salt Lake…and you will see her all winter, all over, SIA and who knows where else…

But console yourself, I’m back with some more tales… and they’re juicier than a fresh Hubba Bubba!!!
Sooooo, what the heck have I been up to since last time?
Well, let’s recap the winter really quick…
I’ve been kickin’ it in SLC early season, putting my lil’ nest together!
Then went to Iceland for the second time in october for the 08/09 outerwear catalogue shoot… The NIKITA crew always take such good care of us, it’s always a blast! And I love to be able to get out of my comfort zone and discover new sceneries! Definitely looking forward for the upcoming shoot on october 12th till the 19th!!!
Went to Whistler for a hot minute in december for a NIKITA Sales meeting, you know kinda of a big deal over here, ;)!!! Naaah! It was super fun to see evryone and kick it with Marybeth, my fellow teammate and good friend! We shred a lil’, stuffed ourselves of delicious food, saw double and walked crooked most of the time, hah!
I then peaced out to Sayulita, Mexico fo a family trip! Hella fun, surfed and worked on my tan lines!!!
I coached a couple snowboard camps back in Qc, beginning of january.
Went to Halifax, Nova Scotia, for a couple days…
Ended up heading to Vegas for SIA, did what I do best!
Cruised to Tahoe beginning of february for the NIKITA outerwear photoshoot… I unfortunately didn’t make it to NIKITA Chickita ’cause of a major concussion up in PC but still came for the shoot… Had a blast off course!
Went on an SBC shoot in Newfoundland beginning of march with a couple chikas!! Got couples good shots I’m hella stoked on! Keep an eye open for the new SBC Women’s Annual coming out in november!! Yeaya!
Went back to Qc to do a couple contests… Made some moolah and went back to SLC with ma pockets a bit fuller!!!
Pretty much shred Snowbird till june and then headed to Mt. Hood, Oregon and coached for High Cascade Snowboard Camp all summer long(www.highcascade.com). Check it out for next summer young & old guns it’s a blast, the park was super fun and safe for all levels!!! Met tons and tons of super rad people! My NIKITA TM, Kelly, came and visited for a couple days, such a good time!

After camp, I was pretty exhausted… I have never had the opportunity to shred in the summer, I learned a bunch of tricks and I KNOW that it’s gonna make such a big difference in my riding next winter! I’m super stoked and existed to see some white fluffs fall outside!!!! Yeaaaah!
I had to take a lil’ break after that intensive 10 months straight of riding! I went down to San Diego, for the ASR again this year! Always fun and good to see friends I haven’t seen in couple months! Bit of partying involved of course but hey, I might live in the States but you ain’t gonna take the frenchy out of me, hehe ;)!
After that, I definitely needed a rejuvenating escape!!! My sister lives in Rosarito, Mexico, an hour south of SD and she happens to be a chiropractor as well. Life has some pretty convenient coincidences sometimes…
Went to Oceanside, CA, for a day. Then Big Bear for Hot Dawgz and Handrail. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to ride… Which was a bummer!
Headed back to SLC, UT on sunday, brought Gabby with me and I’ve been here since…
I moved in Hanna Beaman’s house in Sugarhouse! And I will be roomy with my other fellow NIKITA teammate Colleen Quigley. The winter sounds quite promising, hehehe! It’ll be the ginger’s house… Watch out!
I’ll be back soon with some more tales shortly!!! I’m making my winter plan as we speak, I’ll let ya know where you’ll be able to see my prowess in action!!!

NIKITA INTRODUCES NEW GIRL POSY DIXON
Nikita are proud to announce the addition of snowboarder and fixed gear rider Posy Dixon to the UK team. What better way for you to get to know her better than with an interview with by friend and Atikin team rider Sam Nelson.

“When I first met Posy, I was like.. mmm, who’s this then. But the party got in the way and nothing ever happened… and now we’ve become good friends so things probably worked out for the best.”
What got you interested in Nikita and how does it suit you so far?
I went to Iceland a few years back to work on the IPP – and since then have been slightly obsessed with the country and all it involves. I like the way Nikita clothing reflects the individuality of Iceland by making pieces that are far more creative then other brands and the way it uses its riders as ambassadors and muses, not competition monkeys.
Describe you’re ideal trip… no expense spared, where, who with and what?
There’s too many at the moment. Snow trip wise I want to go back to a place in Japan I visited for a few days last year, it’s called Akakura and it’s the sickest one man chair pow resort in the world. So that’s definitely on the list. I also have two bike trips I want to do, one is around Iceland on the fixed in the summer time with all the amazing daylight… the other is LA to Vegas on a fixed bike… fear and loathing style. Probably an awful idea but it kind of appeals.
What can you not travel without?
4 bar converter plug and the essentials (toothbrush, i-pod, pot of magic face cream).
What’s the hardest obstacle you’ve overcome and has it made you stronger / wiser because of it?
This year I had to make the decision to move out of the mountains back to London as I couldn’t really ride full out because of injury. Life kind of got turned on its head. But things worked out and I’ve learnt that change can be the best thing in the world. I’ve found new amazing things to keep me entertained in London like the whole fixed gear bike thing, and I’ve got a new energy for snowboarding as I make each trip I go on count.
What’s left for you to achieve to make you happy?
I want to paint a painting I’m not too embarrassed to give to someone, build my own bike from scratch, convert a warehouse into an amazing home / work space AND start my own company. So not much.
What would be your last meal?
Either poached eggs and beans on toast washed down with a cup of PG tips, or world class sushi and champagne. Depending on how flush I was feeling.
Who would you call in an emergency bar 999?
My Dad in Hawaii as he never panics when shit goes wrong. And he’s got a really nice soothing voice that makes things seem not so bad instantly.
Mimi’s had a killer season and she’s looking to do it all over again and one year older.
